300V engine oils provide maximum power and torque outputs at all rpm by reducing friction.  High shear stability maintains maximum oil film resistance for reduced wear.  Increased oxidation resistance for extended oil life under extreme operating conditions. High polar adherence of the oil film provides rapid rpm responsiveness.  Builds oil pressure quickly during cold starting.  Low oil volatility and evaporation resistance helps control oil consumption.  High detergency performance allows better engine cleanliness. Formulated to cope with high levels of fuel dilution and is fully compatible with biofuels such as E85.

Viscosity is a measure of how easily the oil flows with muti-viscosity ratings indicating the viscosity when cold (winter weight - the number before the "W") and when hot (the second number).  Optimal viscosity selection is a balance between ensuring the oil flows easily during cold starting and maintaining sufficient oil pressure at maximum expected oil temperatures.  Highly tuned turbocharged engines generally require a higher hot viscosity number because the oil must deal with greater heat loads.  Our starting recommendation for turbocharged Subaru engines is 5W40 for year round general use and 15W50 for warm weather track use.
