GSC's beehive valve springs utilize a progressively wound spring design manufactured using a high-quality ovate wire.  The benefit of this is a stable spring design and a natural frequency that is superior for high rpm use and high boost conditions when running an aggressive camshaft profile.  A beehive spring design outperforms single or dual straight spring designs.  The reduced top diameter allows for a titanium retainer of even lower mass ensuring valve control at high acceleration rates.

Upgraded valve springs are essential for controlling valve movement with more aggressive cam profiles.  A higher spring rate is also necessary under high boost conditions due to the manifold pressures acting against the intake valve opposite of spring pressure.  Spring harmonic frequencies must also be moved outside of the normal operating range to avoid negative effects.  High spring pressures increase frictional losses and reduce spring life.  It is recommended to select the valve spring according to the application and camshaft profile so as to ensure optimum valve control over the expected rpm range without introducing unnecessarily excessive spring forces.

Contains 16 x valve springs and 16 retainers. Requires the use of factory valve spring seats.
