The ARP case bolt kit allows for increased bolt torque in order to keep the block case more rigid helping to control main bearing clearances under the most extreme engine forces. Includes a full set of M10 block main bolts and M8 block perimeter bolts with hardened washers.

These bolts are produced from 8740 chromoly steel and heat treated to 190ksi tensile strength. They feature a reduced wrenching 12 point head, large under-head radius, and cold rolled threads formed post heat treatment maximizing reliability. Washers are hardened and parallel ground for accuracy.

When installing these bolts at maximum torque values according to the supplied instructions it is absolutely essential that the block main tunnel be line bored or line honed to correct the resulting main bore distortion. Bolts can be installed at factory torque values without requiring line boring but the full benefit will not be realized. Additionally, for extreme power applications we strongly recommend that the main webs be dowel pinned (pinned mains) at the same time for maximum rigidity and dimensional control. All machine work should be performed only by a highly skilled machine shop with extensive Subaru block experience and with access to CNC equipment.
