Front Diff Side Support Bearing

Tapered roller bearing of dimensions 40 x 80 x 19mm together for all manual transmission applications.  Two variations were used but are interchangeable.  One version used on 6MT applications between MY01 and MY06 may be slightly heavier duty.  The other version is use for all other 5MT and 6MT applications between 1990 and 2025.

Always replace if the bearing feels rough or is noisy, the race or rollers are badly scored or pitted, or the bearing shows signs over high temperatures.  This bearing is pressed on to both sides of the front differential and the race is a slight interference fit at room temperature in the side diff retainers (sun dials as they are sometimes referred to). When fitting a new differential or limited slip it is suggested to replace the bearings due to the difficulty in removing the originals without damage.
