Reverse Gear & Hub Assembly 5MT MY99-02
Sleeve and hub assembly for 1st/2nd gear selection. Sleeve incorporates reverse gear.
Gear clash due to missed shifts or worn synchros will cause damage to the synchro dog teeth. If the sharp angles on the leading edges of the sleeve (slider) become rounded over or damaged shift performance will suffer. In severe cases a burr forms on the sleeve and prevents engagement or will cause the transmission to be stuck in gear. Damage to leading edges of the reverse gear teeth will make shifting into reverse more difficult. Any of these conditions require replacing the gear and hub assembly.
