Rear Oxygen Sensor GRB
This sensor measures the oxygen content in the exhaust system post catalyst. An oxygen sensor can establish the air-fuel ratio by measuring the excess oxygen left over from the combustion process. The ECU compares the rear oxygen sensor signal to the front oxygen sensor signal to determine if the catalytic converter is operating efficiently.
A faulty rear O2 sensor is likely to set a CEL but is unlikely to affect the engine operation.
