1st Gear Synchronizer TY856 6MT GDB
Synchronizer for 1st gear on GDB applications. This is a double cone synchronizer and either 6 (MY01-06) or 4 (MY07) raised tabs on the cone that engage the corresponding holes in the 1st driven gear. Early (MY01-early MY04) applications require updating additional parts (see our synchro update kit). Choose the correct synchro according to the number of holes in 1st gear.
A worn synchronizer will result in a crunchy or grinding shift which may be more pronounced when the oil is warm. Subaru transmissions are very finicky when it comes to gear oil selection. Synchro performance and life is highly dependent on the characteristics of the oil.
