5th Gear Bearing Race 5MT Turbo

This is the bearing race that provides the hardened surface for the 5th drive gear needle bearing to ride on as well as the thrust surface.  Fits between the main shaft rear support bearing and 5th gear.  It is a one-piece race and thrust washer which is used only on turbocharged applications using a tapered roller bearing for the main shaft rear support.  Applications using a radial ball bearing for the main shaft rear support use a two piece 5th gear bearing race (race and thrust washer are separate).

The bearing race may need to be replaced if it is damaged or worn. The race is pressed on to the main (input) shaft.  Non-turbo or older turbo applications subjected to heavy duty use can upgrade to the tapered roller bearing by using it in conjunction with this 5th bearing race.
