RCM Group N Baffled Oil Pan Kit

RCM's oil sump design has its roots in Prodrive's Subaru WRC and Group N rally engines.  Its purpose is to effectively reduce oil surge and drainback issues created during high lateral forces.  These issues, of which Subaru's flat engine designs are particularly susceptible, can result in oil starvation of the pickup leading to catastrophic engine failure. 

The RCM Group N baffled oil pan starts its life as a factory oil pan.  The ineffective factory shelving system is removed, and the pan is modified to accept the Group N type oil baffle insert.  The insert consists of an aluminum containment system with nitrile rubber one-way valves to control oil movement and retain an adequate supply of oil around the factory pickup at all times.  The supplied factory oil pickup (strainer) includes a rubber dampener to eliminate vibration induced pickup failures.  An aluminum drain plug with high strength magnet is supplied and an additional AN-8 fitting and plug is provided should you wish to connect a return hose to the pan.  Plugs are safety wired for motorsport applications.  Includes installation hardware.
