RCM Low Temperature Thermostat
COOLER THAN THE COMPETITION
RCM's high quality thermostat begins opening at 70 degrees C (approx. 20 degrees lower than factory) and is fully open by 90 degrees C (approx. 5 degrees lower than factory). By opening sooner the cooling system can begin dissipating heat earlier and when combined with an efficient racing type radiator can help improve cooling system efficiency under more extreme conditions. Best suited to racing or more high-performance road use applications.
Not recommended for light duty road use, particularly applications where typical trip duration is fairly short. If the cooling system fails to reach full temperature and allow the oil to reach a temperature high enough to boil off condensation, sludge buildup will occur. Additionally, some applications may set a CEL related to cooling system performance.
