RalliSpec Ltd. has signed on as a technical
sponsor of Paladin Rally for the 2006 season. RalliSpec will assist
with the development and maintenance of the engines and driveline
components in Matthew Iorio's open class rally car.
Paladin Rally took the North American
Rally Championship (NARC) in 2005 and hopes to step things up in
2006 in order to claim the Rally America and possibly the Canadian
championships. Within the Rally America championship Iorio faces
stiff competition from the Subaru backed team of Travis Pastrana
and Ken Block. Previously Matthew has focused his efforts on gaining
seat time and experience. However, the team now feels that they
need to focus on car development in order to gain an edge over the
more highly funded teams. According to Iorio, "We'll be doing
some pretty exotic things."
RalliSpec is looking forward to the partnership
with Paladin Rally in order to showcase its abilities. RalliSpec
has been involved in Subaru motorsports for over 7 years and campaigns
a group N STi in the Rally America series. While the company has
been involved with many clients for similar projects, most have
been overseas clients and the exposure level has been minimal. Managing
director Dave Anton says, "We are very interested in raising
our profile within the North American rally community. Paladin Rally
is widely recognized and always fun to watch. Its a perfect match."
